Intelligence Gathering
Missile and Test Ranges
Extreme Imaging
The precision Electro-Optics of the LRS5000 coupled with sensitive
camera technology enables the system to detect and identify activities
at extreme distances. The system has a detection range of more than
25km and is able to identify targets at more than 5km. The LRS5000
camera is integrated with a precision built director head allowing
precise location of targets. The LRS5000 system is computer
controlled and fully networkable. A context camera is integrated with
the main camera, allowing the system to move smoothly from initial
detection to high resolution identification. Once on target, positions
can be memorized, allowing them to be easily and accurately returned
to by the director head, using its inbuilt precision positional resolvers.
FIELD PROVEN ELECTRO OPTICAL SENSOR
The LRS5000’s Electro Optical sensor consists of a fully field proven
600 – 4800mm 6 stepped zoom Maksutov Cassegrain lens. The
camera housing incorporates an optically flat front window essential
for long range targeting. The lens and camera assembly is
encapsulated in a rugged housing, combining excellent military
standard EMC qualities with a high level of environmental protection.
CAMERA CONFIGURATION
The cameras can be factory configured with daytime colour, or low
light monochrome sensors. Alternatively, the LRS5000 can be fitted
with Chelteks unique field proven camera changeover mechanisms,
providing the ultimate solution for all light conditions. Dependent
upon the ultimate application, the LRS5000 can also utilise the latest
high performance mega pixel sensors.
INTEGRATION
The cameras can be integrated into an existing control room’s
command and control system. Alternatively, Cheltek can provide a
scalable command and control system, able to control any number of
cameras over a local or remote Ethernet network system.

The LRS3000 is a completely self contained and highly portable video surveillance, monitoring and recording system. Compact and lightweight, yet powerful and robust, the system has been specially designed for a wide range of demanding long range reconnaissance applications. Employing the very latest in electro-optic technologies, the LRS3000 provides surveillance at extreme ranges and in low light, making it ideal for sensitive covert and overt operations. The system is field proven, having been used extensively in harsh environments.
SEE WHAT YOU ARE MISSING
The LRS3000 electro-optic sensor consists of a fully motorised 250-3015mm continuous zoom Cassegrain lens, coupled to a unique colour and low-light CCD changeover camera. This makes the sensor capable of operating in light levels from full sunlight down to 1 Lux at full zoom and at target distances in excess of 13km.
LIGHTWEIGHT AND COMPACT
The camera housing has been designed for special force applications where size, weight and performance are critical. Weighing less than 12kg, the lens and camera assembly is encapsulated in a single, ultra-light housing which combines excellent military standard EMC qualities with a very high level of environmental protection. An equally lightweight and compact, high performance remote controlled Pan and Tilt director head is available. This allows the sensor payload to be accurately and repeatedly positioned onto targets, either by manual control or slewing automatically to pre-programmed positions. An optional fibre optic modem can be incorporated into the base to allow interference-free remote operation over tactical fibre. Cheltek can also provide a desktop controller, a briefcase-style command and control unit or a hand held control unit, all utilising a user-friendly and intuitive Man Machine Interface, greatly reducing the need for operator training.
DESCRIPTION
The LRS230 long range, marine surveillance system is ideal for:-
• Border Surveillance
• Coastal & Marine Surveillance
• Missile and Test Ranges
It is fitted in a rugged housing, able to withstand the harsh marine environement. The camera is fully waterproof and can be nitrogen purged and pressurised while in use.
The lens is set to give a fixed FOV of approximately 30 metres at a distance of 1km.
The lens is fitted with an ND filter to help ensure it works in very bright conditions and with sea reflections.
The camera has a 1/3” CCD image sensor with an automatic day / night mode. In daylight, the camera image is colour and, as the light level drops, the camera will automatically switch to a monochrome night mode, giving superior performance in low light conditions.
The system comes with a BNC output connector and a multipole connector carrying power and control.
The system is powered from 110V – 240V AC and the control allows 2 preset iris levels to be set.
