Camera for Situational Awareness
Systems
The Miniature Vehicle Camera (MVC4560) has been designed primarily for vehicle mounted close-in
situational awareness work. However, the MVC is a versatile, inconspicuous unit with many other possible uses, including covert surveillance applications.
The MVC measures a mere 100mm x 50mm x 50mm and weighs only 0.25Kg
The Housing contains EMC filtering to allow the unit to meet the stringent EMC requirements required on military vehicles and a heater for low temperature use
The MVC4560 uses a CCD sensor board camera.
The colour version has 1 lux sensitivity at F1.4 and 520 line resolution
Lens options from 45º to 60º Field of View available
Based on similar fielded designs, the unit is designed to meet MIL STD 461F, 464 and 810F
Time Synchronisation for Military Vehicles
The Intime247 unit uses Network Time Protocol to synchronise the time for all computer systems on a vehicle. All log file entries, video overlays, database accesses, user log-ins and any other time based
activity, will be fully time synchronised to the InTime247 unit. The benefits include:
Improved information reporting
Improved security and usage auditing
The unit uses a GPS feed to set its internal clock This single time value is circulated over the vehicle network to any other equipment. If the GPS signal is unavailable the unit will provide an internally
generated clock. It is designed for mounting onto wheeled vehicles and is designed to
be fully compliant with the latest environmental and EMC specifications.
The InTime247 builds on Cheltek’s long history of designing and building high-quality military systems. Our vehicle systems have been used by the UK MoD for many years and currently see service in
some of the most demanding theatres in the world. The unit weighs less than 1kg and can be easily mounted within a vehicle.
General Vehicle Architecture
The InTime247 unit can be GVA compliant and can form part of a Generic Vehicle Architecture system.
Positional Option
Optionally, positional data can be output over the network. This data includes:
Position,
Heading and
Speed
This option uses the Data Distribution Service.
DESCRIPTION
INTEGRATED SURVEILLANCE SYSTEM
The LRS-D is a fully integrated surveillance camera that combines a high resolution colour camera for daytime surveillance with a thermal imaging camera for night vision. The cameras are mounted in a compact rugged enclosure that can be mounted on a precision-drive motorised pan/tilt unit offering a fast and accurate remote control targeting capability. An integrated wiper is also supplied. The cameras can be mounted either horizontally or vertically on the pan / tilt unit depending on user requirements. The LRS-D is designed for multiple roles and is ideal for portable situational awareness, reconnaissance and surveillance applications:
- • Ground Deployment
- • Vehicle Deployment
- • Man Portable Covert Intelligence Gathering
It is designed for mounting onto wheeled vehicles and is designed to be fully compliant with the latest environmental and EMC specifications.
The LRS-D builds on Cheltek’s long history of designing and building high quality military cameras. The LRS family in its various formats has been used by the UK MoD for many years and currently sees service in some of the most demanding theatres in the world. The LRS range is also in use by non-military agencies for covert target surveillance and intelligence gathering.
The whole camera assembly weighs less than 4.5kg and can be mounted on a variety of mounts including a compact portable tripod.
HIGH RESOLUTION DAYTIME IMAGING
The LRS-D day camera is a high resolution CCD camera with integral optical zoom lens giving a field of view from 1.7 to 60 degrees. The sensor operates at lighting levels down to 0.1 lux.
THERMAL IMAGING NIGHT VISION
The LRS-D incorporates a high performance thermal imaging camera to provide continued surveillance capability in poor visibility and night conditions. The sensor is coupled to the latest generation of image processing electronics to achieve superior image quality, and the zoom lens offers a wide angle view through to long focal length to achieve human target detection at 1000m.
DEF-STAN 00-82
The LRS-D can be fitted with our DEF-STAN 00-82 module, allowing it to form part of a Generic Vehicle Architecture system.
DESCRIPTION
The Insight II DVR system has been designed to future-proof customers investment, by leveraging the highest performance signal processing components in a low power, compact unit. Insight II DVR harnesses a number of advanced processing elements to produce a system capable of the very highest levels of performance.
The DVR uses the Ti DM8168 processor, which is a world leader in combining a high performance CPU, DSP and 3 Video co-processors. Each video co-processor is capable of 2 x 1080p encode at 30fps, with H.264, MPEG2, MPEG4, or M-JPEG. It is currently configured for 2 analogue video inputs.
The system is supplied with a solid state hard drive and when powered automatically starts recording. When the hard drive is full, the data is over written. Depending on video quality selected and hard drive size, typically data will be over written after 50 hours or more.
Each camera input is stored as a separate video file, with each file split into a user selectable size – default 60 minutes.
The user interacts with the DVR via a standard web browser interface, allowing configuration of the recorder and download of any recorded files.
The DVR is currently in service.
DESCRIPTION
The Insight 2IP and the Insight 4IP DVR systems have been designed to future-proof customer’s investment, by leveraging the highest performance signal processing components in a low power, compact unit. The Insight 2IP and the Insight 4IP DVRs harnesses a number of advanced processing elements to produce a system capable of the very highest levels of performance.
For each channel, the DVR uses a Freescale iMX6 ARM processor ideally suited to multimedia applications but with a low power consumption. Each channel records high quality imagery and at the same time streams the signal over an IP interface.
The Insight 2IP accepts two camera inputs, the Insight 4IP accepts four camera inputs. These inputs can be either analogue PAL/NTSC or a digital LVDS input. All the channels are simulataneously recorded and streamed.
The video is streamed using RTSP packets and the bandwidth of each stream can be adjusted independently depending on the communications bandwidth available.
When powered all channels automatically start recording. Each channel has a dedicated 32GB memory and depending on the video quality selected, will store over 50 hours of video per channel
Each Camera input is stored as a separate video file, with each file split into a user selectable size – default 60 minutes.
The user interacts with the DVR via a standard Web browser interface, allowing configuration of the recorder and download of any recorded files.
The recorder can be time synced using an NTP time server like the Cheltek Intime 247 unit.
